.:Tutorial: Simple Lineart:. by Volmise .:Tutorial: Simple Lineart:. by Volmise
Many have asked, and I've finally done it. This is a tutorial explaining how I do my linework in Photoshop CS5.

It should easily transfer back down to at the very least CS2, since that is what I was using up until a few months ago. Photoshop is generally the same all around however, so I don't imagine it would be a problem.

And hey! If you use this, link me any pictures or lineart that you draw with help from this tutorial! I'd love to see!

This is awesome! I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do the lineart for things like MLP and Pokemon, but haven't come across any until this. Saving for future reference. :)

Really? Haha thanks! I'm working on another picture using the technique to celebrate my 100th animal picture, but it might take days...

excellent, i needed something like this. I'm pretty good at coloring and shading, but it takes forever for me to get my lineart right.

Going to have to try this.

I've actually been using vector programs to make all of my computer art, and really that stuff takes way to long for making anything at any decent rate. Far too much work is required to adjust the small things.

This will likely halve the time it's been taking me at the least.

Once I've figured out how to do it well at least.

Thanks so much! My lineart is always a lot weaker than my pencil drawings and this has a lot of good information.

That sketch was perfect! If you could drew such a sketch, why you couldn't drew lineart at once?

This is a huge help! Thanks a ton for uploading this. Maybe now I'll actually start using Photoshop to make images, as opposed to Flash.

Ohh, now I get it... I didn't quite understand you before, but it makes sense now. Seems like it would be really hard to get an even line width that way though! I think I'll give it a shot on my next piece.

This was a huge help for me. It will take me a while to get used to the huge canvas size, I usually just take whatever size the pencil sketch is and just start zooming in, but I will try and learn to make the canvas size bigger. Thank you. Do you have one for coloring/shading? *goes to check*

I'm afraid I haven't done one for coloring or shading yet, but maybe in the future I just might make one. :3
