Seeing your Furret in all of its cuteness poking itself out of a hole reminded me of one of my experiences in Pokemon Crystal:
I was getting beaten badly in one of the caves (I forgot which one lol) by something other than Zubats. I had no escape ropes, and I think I was out of healing items. So I thought, "I have no idea what DIG does, but maybe it will find me a potion underground? Okay, Trixie (my Furret I had raised from a Sentret), use DIG!" And before I knew it, I was outside of the cave and was able to make it to the nearby Pokemon Center.
So if I ever play the game again (or the remake) I'll always teach Furret how to DIG. It seems pretty natural for it to know that move.
